bitter history - a different look at New York City
"Bitter history" (instead of the original "better history") is an inscription on a wall in Chelsea, NY. The bitter taste of this past decade, started with 9/11 and ended in a recession, unveiled the fragility of this "city of God" and of loneliness. Faces and facades are moving expressions of humanity, they cry out the terrible lack of meaning and the overwhelming hope that surfaces again and again and again.
The music is Jeff Buckley's Mojo Pin. The pictures I took in NYC and Beacon these past few months.
